It was my pleasure to photograph new arrival ‘Baby Heath’ last Friday. Born just three weeks ago to Mum Ellie and Dad Jez, the session took place at home in Cardiff.

Regular visitors to our blog will remember Ellie’s pregnancy session (the second of three location-based portrait sessions in our popular ‘Bump-to-Baby’ package,) from November, and images from this session can still be seen here.

We managed to create a variety of images throughout this 90 minute newborn baby photography session and have included a small selection above. If you are a family member or friend of the family and would like to see all of the images from this newborn session, please click here. We hope you enjoy the images above and would like to invite everyone to leave comments for Heath, Ellie and Jez below.

I enjoyed meeting and photographing the newest addition to the family and I’m looking forward to photographing you all again in the summer next year, when we complete the third location-based portrait session of this Bump to Baby package, with the ‘Family‘ session.

Have a merry Xmas and a happy New Year.

It was my pleasure to photograph the winter wedding of Emma and Robert last Saturday at the beautiful Caer Beris Manor in the heart of Mid Wales in the picturesque town of Builth Wells, Powys.

After meeting Emma and her bridesmaids at the hotel early in the morning, we got some great reportage photos of the girls getting ready with visits from both Mums, friends and family throughout the morning.

It was then on to St Mary’s Church in the town centre of Builth Wells for the wedding ceremony. The sun made an appearance and early morning rain cleared in time for Emma’s arrival with her Dad and Bridesmaids.

After the church service at St Mary’s we made the short trip back to Caer Beris Manor for the reception. With the forecast afternoon rain still holding off we headed straight into the beautiful grounds for some fantastic outdoor bride and groom photos. Making full use of the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ style swing bridge over the raging river Irfon, we explored the grounds together creating a lovely mix of natural and relaxed reportage shots, with some more ‘posed’ shots making full use of the stunning surroundings, grounds and dry weather.

If you were at this wedding we hope you have enjoyed the ‘sneaky peak’ images above and would like to invite you to leave Emma and Rob your personal messages below. All of the stunning images from their beautiful day will be available to view as digital slide-shows from this page soon.

Enjoy your honeymoon guys and thank you once again for inviting me along to your special day.

Nic wins another SWPP Gold award!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Swansea_Portrait_Photographer

We heard today that the above image from a newborn location-based portrait session has received a Gold award in the category of  ’Baby Portrait’ from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP), in their international November monthly competition! This image will now go forward for judging in the end of year competition where the SWPP Baby photographer of the year will be chosen.

This award ends the year as it started in January with competition success for Nic’s work. However as always, this accolade doesn’t come close to the satisfaction received from the comments of the parents of the baby featured. Thank you once again Helen and Andy for inviting me into your home to meet and photograph the three of you.
