High Tide Inn Porthcawl, Bridgend wedding

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

It was my pleasure to photograph the wedding of Melissa and Philip last Saturday at the High Tide Inn just off the beach in Porthcawl near Bridgend.
After a July full of rain the skies cleared for the day and summer made a welcome return to the South Wales coast for a day.

After photographing Melissa’s preparations at the house in the morning we moved onto the hotel on the seafront in sunny Porthcawl to meet the Groom and the best man and ushers. The sun was out and the sky was blue, so cold lager was needed to keep the boys cool in their suits.

Melissa arrived with her Dad in a fantastic wedding car. A replica ‘General Lee’ from the hit US TV show, ‘The Dukes of Hazard.’

After a beautiful civil ceremony inside the hotel Melissa and Philip took a 10 minute drive in the ‘General Lee’ to a spot further along the coast for some ‘alone time’. This was were we created a fantastic set of stunning bride and groom images.

After 20 minutes it was back in the car to return to the High Tide Inn on Mackworth Road for the wedding breakfast, proceeded with the speeches.
If you were a guest at this wedding and have enjoyed the ‘sneaky peak’ images above, please leave Melissa and Philip a personal message below. After they have returned from honeymoon and seen the images for themselves, all of the photos from their day will be available to view from this page of our website as a slide-show.
Have a fantastic trip to India guys, and safe travelling.

Neath Towers Hotel wedding, Jersey Marine Swansea

Monday, July 20th, 2009

It was my pleasure to photograph the wedding of Lowri and Iestyn on Saturday.

After a ceremony at the beautiful Moriah Chapel in Tycroes near Ammanford, we moved on to the stunning Towers Hotel in Jersey Marine on the edge of Swansea’s SA1 waterfront area, for the wedding reception.

The forecast rain held off yet again (for the second week in a row,) so full advantage was taken of the unexpected dry and even sunny (at times,) weather.
If you were a guest at this wedding we hope you have enjoyed the early sneaky peak images above. If you’d like to see all of the stunning images from this day, please click this link to visit Lowri and Iestyn’s gallery page. Their on-line proof slide-show will be available once they have returned from honeymoon and seen the photos for themselves first.
In the meantime why not leave them a personal message below?

Have a great honeymoon guys and safe travelling.

St David’s Hotel and Spa Cardiff wedding

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

It was my pleasure to photograph the wedding of Robert and Nicola last Saturday at the stunning St. David’s Hotel and Spa on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay.

After a church ceremony at the beautiful cathedral-like St. Mary’s church in Merthyr Tydfil, we made our way down the A470 to the waterfront area of Cardiff Bay and the stunning St. Davids Hotel.

With heavy rain forecast from lunchtime to last all afternoon, we were amazed to find a 90 minute window of dry weather at the hotel, with some wonderfully moody stormy skies, which was when most of the images above were taken, before the promised rain arrived!!
Once the outside photos were completed with a 20 minute tour of the hotel and the grounds with Robert and Nicola spending some time on their own, we returned inside to the suite for the wedding breakfast.

If you were at this wedding we hope you have enjoyed the sneaky peak images above and would like to invite you to leave Nicola and Robert a personal message below.

All of the stunning images from their day will be available to view on-line from this page once they have returned from honeymoon and seen the images for themselves.

Have a great honeymoon guys and safe travelling.

Nic Cleave Photography is moving!!!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Finally after more than two years of trying to buy 4 different houses we are finally moving our business and family to a new studio and home!

We’ll be moving a few miles further up the Swansea valley to the beautiful village of Rhos, between Swansea, Neath and Pontardawe.

The move will take place from July 20th so obviously our location, postal address and studio telephone numbers will all be changing. We’ll contact all existing clients individually to update you all with the new contact details as soon as we have them all confirmed and of course will update contact info on our website as soon as possible.

We’re very excited by the move as for the first time part of the house will be a dedicated studio and office, allowing us to offer our clients an even more relaxed and professional studio experience when visiting us to discuss their wedding photography requirements or for viewing recent portrait sessions etc.

Please note that throughout the move (July 20th-27th) our mobile number will remain the same. If you’re unsure about the correct postal address, please give us a call so that we can confirm things for you.

Watch this space for photos of our new ‘client lounge’ over the coming weeks, and we look forward to welcoming past, existing and future clients to our new studio and home.

New weddings showcase slide-show

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

We have today updated our popular flash-based ‘Wedding Showcase slide-show.’ Containing many images from recent weddings, this slide-show runs for 6 minutes and showcases the very best images that Nic has created with his recent couples from venues all over Wales and the UK.

Click here if you’d like to watch the new version (you will need to have flash player on your pc and if you are watching at work, will need to ensure that you are able to run flash on your office workstation.)

Don’t forget that we also have our more conventional galleries here, for those of you who prefer to select the specific images you wish to see.

Our thanks as always must go to the couples featured. Without you all, none of this would be possible.

Nic
